The Ohio Federation of Fire Chaplains (OFFC) supports the ministries of volunteer and paid Fire Department and EMS Chaplains, and assists fire service agencies in developing their chaplaincy programs. The OFFC is affiliated with and supports the Federation of Fire Chaplains (FFC) on the national level, providing automatic membership and networking with the addition of a statewide certification and accountability system for fire & EMS chaplains.The OFFC offers programs that provide its members with educational opportunities in training conferences and materials. The OFFC provides a standard of care and training for Chaplains.

OFFC History

On Friday, February 21st, 2008 eleven (11) Fire and EMS chaplains gathered at the Home Town Buffet in Reynoldsburg, Ohio to consider a statewide organization for Emergency Service Chaplains. Said group voted to create the Ohio Federation of Fire Chaplains (OFFC) by unanimous vote. Officers were duly elected and were charged with the task of creating a set of By-Laws that would govern this new organization. The Secretary/Treasurer was authorized to secure an EIN and establish a checking account in the name of the OFFC. The original Executive Committee adopted the By-Laws on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 (Terry Newman, Rick Vasik, Michele Miller and Jerry Lewis). Jerry Lewis was directed to distribute the By-Laws to the Chartered Members for their review.
